Anyone who has an underground type dog fence, could I have your opinion?
We will be moving to a new house this Fall and we will either need to install a fence or an invisible fence for our two dogs. I would like to hear from anyone who has any comments pro or con on certain brands/companies of invisible fences. Thanks!
It depends on your situation. I have a kennel the dogs stay in during the day. When I get home, I hook up the wireless fence and let them run. Finally they come in at night.
The wireless fence is made by PetSmart and you simply plug it in and set the range anywhere from 30ft. radius to 90 ft. No need to bury wire. The collars just need to be set to the level of correction and are good to go (check the batteries once in a while) It really didn’t take the dogs long to learn their limits and now I just let them run sometimes without the fence on. The best thing is we can take the unit with us when we camp. Just put on their collars, plug the unit in, set the range (easy) and let them run in our site. The wireless setup costs more than the invisible fence, but you also don’t have to bury wire all over and can take it with you if needed.
