What breed of dog should I have.?

I am old guy, live alone, very healthy, like to stay home sometimes, but travel too. Want a dog that is reasonably active, not too hard to care for, friendly, maybe guards house and car. Should be able to take long trips in a SUV or RV with me, or live without me, but with neighborhood kid coming in to take care of her. I had a couple of dogs. One was a Viszla and GREAT, one German Shepard, neurological problems/vicsious.
Frankly, I am both very lonely and lazy, but mostly lonely so need a companion dog. I have pretty big house and fenced yard and like to walk in neighborhood and woods. Lots of kids in neighborhood, so must be a very friendly dog. Should also be able to attract pretty, single women! OK, enough to work on? Please suggest some ideas, but not the pound. That is easy, I need breeds that are as clearcut as possible as to the behavior of the dog.

The Jack Russell Terrier is a perky, merry, devoted, and loving dog. Spirited and obedient, yet absolutely fearless. Careful and amusing, he enjoys games and playing with toys. Friendly and generally kind to children who have been taught not to tease or strike the dog. They are intelligent, yet willful and determined. They can be slightly difficult to train and need a firm, experienced trainer. The Jack Russell can be aggressive with other dogs if not well trained and socialized. Some have killed or been killed in dog fights. Early socialization can help substantially moderate this trait. They have strong hunting instincts (stronger than your average terrier) and should not be trusted with other small animals. They like to chase and explore. Be careful not to let them off the lead unless they are very well-trained. Jack Russells like to bark and dig. They tend to get restless and destructive if not kept fruitfully occupied and well exercised. Jack Russells climb, which means they can climb over a fence, they also jump. A Jack that stands 12 inches high can easily jump five feet. JRTs are not the breed for a inexperienced dog owner. This is a BIG dog in a little dogs body. The owner needs to be as strong-willed as they are, or this little guy will take over. With the right owner this little dog can really excel, but is not recommended for those who have not had prior experience with terriers. The Jack Russell Terrier must present a lively, active and alert appearance. It should impress with its fearless and happy disposition. It should be remembered that the Jack Russell is a working terrier and should retain these instincts. Nervousness, cowardice or over-aggressiveness should be discouraged and it should always appear confident.

Miniature Fox Terrier diminutive, agile, sweet-faced terrier that retains the hunting instincts and tenacity of its larger terrier cousins. The breed is akin to the Toy Fox Terrier and is known colloquially as the ‘Mini Foxie’ in its native Australia. The Miniature Fox Terrier’s noble head is distinctive, with erect ears that may stand straight up or fold just at the tips. Another distinguishing feature is its articulate, oval-shaped foot. The breed standard has always allowed for the dog to be docked or undocked. Natural bobtails are known to occur. There are only three permitted color combinations: black and white, tan and white, and tri-color (black, white and tan).
Temperament
Loyal, inquisitive, fearless, active and adaptable. Miniature Fox Terriers have an almost dual personality: at the first sign of suspicion, danger or alarm, the demure, pampered lapdog turns instantly into a fearless watchdog, tenacious vermin killer and intrepid hunter. They are good with children who are old enough to distinguish between a dog and a plush toy, and generally get along with other pets. However, like all terriers, the Mini Fox Terrier cannot distinguish between pet rodents or pet reptiles and vermin, and should not be left alone with such animals.
