Do you think dogs should be treated better than extended family?
My sister has a couple dogs and they also have a child. So, the family consists of her, her husband, her daughter, and their two dogs. The rest of our family lives about 5 hours away. They’re going to visit the rest of my family and I asked if I could go with them. My sister said that I’ll have to drive myself because they’ll have to bring their dogs with them and they won’t have room in the car. This just made me feel pretty low on the totem pole. It kind of made me feel like dogs are being treated better than family. Is this an American thing? My extended family in Mexico would never do something like this.
Also, do you think this is kind of rude that she’d more or less choose the dogs over family? Or not?
dogs are family, they are more than just pets…also..unless you can find a nice neighbor to look after your dogs…boarding them in a kennel is really expensive. Cut your sister a break, I’d tell my brother he’d have to drive himself if I was going somewhere and had to take my CATS..they have been my babies for 4 years now and I have a newborn. Don’t be so silly, her dogs are probably like her children, they are as much a part of her family as you are…it’s just they can’t drive.
