How do I cut/ trim my dog’s nails?
I know, I know, let a groomer or vet do it.
Ok, I know that is ideal.
But, I am going to buy some dog nail cutters at the pet store or Wal-Mart & want to ask anyone with experience-
How far do I cut down ( I know there is a danger)?
How often should I have to cut them?
What angle do I cut them at?
I had a groomer do them, she came into my home & did it for 8.00 ! I know that is cheap, but she was only here for 2 minutes!!
My dog’s nails are white & I can easily see where the vein starts.
She is very calm & allows me to touch her feet w/o moving.
I searched this online, since asking & found some good sites.
Thanks to all who answered!
She is a short corgi mixed w/ hound.
I think their nails grow a lot more than others, right?
So, that is why she needs them cut more often.

Place the cutters straight up and down with the dog’s nail. Trim them before the “quick” that is the white part of the nail. Also pick up some “Quick stopper” in case you do cut your dogs quick it will stop the bleeding. You should cut them whenever you can hear them clicking on the floor
