What dog vitamins/supplements do you recommend to eliminate shedding and dry skin?
I have a smooth coat Miniature Dachshund who has always had somewhat dry skin and a dull coat. He tends to get dandruff especially after a bath or after applying Frontline. I use shampoo for sensitive skin and only bathe him once every month or two as to not dry out or irritate his skin more. He has also started shedding a bit more than normal. I feed him Deli Fresh food which has all natural ingredients.
Can anyone recommend a vitamin or supplement that will alleviate his dandruff/dry skin, reduce shedding, and give him a more healthy looking coat? I have looked online, and there are so many brands. I’m hoping someone can recommend a brand or product that has given their pet good results!?
We use 3V brand in our clinic. You can get either the capsules or the liquid. I like the liquid as it comes in a pump bottle and you can just pump it on their food. Some critters don’t care for the smell or taste though. DermCaps are good as well.
I also highly recommend switching to a super-premium food like Canidae or Innova. I switched my 3 cats and 3 dogs to Innova about 5 weeks ago and I am amazed by the results.
